HORUS is a digital solution designed for the DRC’s Direction Générale de Migration (DGM): identifying and managing resident or transiting foreign nationals, online card and visa applications, smart biometric cards read by border agents, and a real-time database of migration flows. Presented at the Tech Challenge of UNIKIN’s 14th Journées Informatiques, the project was one of five finalists; Gift Bambi Nzuzi reports finishing 4th.

The problem

Identifying and tracking foreign nationals relied on slow procedures, without consolidated data or fast checks at the border.

The solution

An online space for applications, a back office for DGM services, encoded smart cards verifiable with a reader, and real-time statistics by city and province.

My contribution

Designed and built the platform (web back office and mobile app), and presented the project in the final.
